What the TCPA requires

The TCPA sets rules for consent, timing, and identification when placing automated or pre-recorded calls to US consumers.

  • Prior express consent

    Auto-dialed and pre-recorded marketing calls require prior express written consent from the person being called.

  • Calling-time restrictions

    Calls may generally only be placed between 8am and 9pm in the called party's local time zone.

  • Opt-outs & identification

    Callers must identify themselves and honor opt-out and consent-revocation requests promptly.
